The event was also the scene of two landmark moments for Team cbdMD athlete, Chad Reed.
After over two decades in the sport, Anaheim 1 set his final season of AMA Supercross in motion. He was clearly emotional during his January 3rd press conference, with Autoweek reporting that the Australian native choked up when discussing his final run.
“I’m proud of where I come from, but I’m proud of what I’ve done in my adult life here, too,” Reed said. “I feel complete, finally. This motorcycle thing has been my life, my world, it’s never easy to walk away from something you love so much.”
Reed also made an emotional Instagram where he described starting his final season in as surreal.
Anaheim 1 also served as Reed’s 250th main event start in Supercross competition.
