One of the greatest mixed martial artists of the past decade, Daniel Cormier is now a member of Team cbdMD, encompassing a lineup of top athletes across a wide range of professional sports.
"I'm so thankful to be advancing my relationship with such a great company and elated to be a part of such a fantastic team," said Cormier of his new partnership with cbdMD. As an amateur wrestler, Cormier placed fourth in the 2004 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 2007 World Wrestling Championships.
In professional mixed martial arts, Cormier is best known for holding Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) belts in two different weight classes at the same time. He is only the fourth fighter to achieve the feat. Cormier was named Fighter of the Year by ESPN in 2018.
In addition to his UFC titles, Cormier also won the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Championship, King of the Cage Heavyweight Championship, and Xtreme MMA Heavyweight Championship.
"Daniel Cormier is the epitome of a champion in and out of the cage," said Hans Molenkamp on behalf of cbdMD. “The addition of DC to the elite Team cbdMD roster shows his commitment in utilizing the benefits and advancement of CBD."
Since The World Anti-Doping Agency removed cannabidiol (CBD) from its list of prohibited substances, it has become a valuable tool for scores of world-class athletes. Mixed martial artists are particularly fond of CBD’s powerful properties.
Both Bellator and UFC rank among the first professional sports bodies to permit CBD use by competitors. Bellator recently inked a multi-year partnership with cbdMD.
