Nine members of cbdMD’s extreme sports team took their incredible talents to this year’s Summer X Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jarryd McNeil, Garrett Reynolds, and Ryan "R-Willy" Williams each came away with gold medals.
The 2019 Summer X Games are in the books. Nine athletes from Team cbdMD’s roster of world-class extreme sports athletes stole the show, making history in the process.
The group took a total of six medals across a variety of BMX and Moto X events.
Highlights include:
- Jarryd McNeil became the first Moto X competitor to win four consecutive gold medals in a single event by taking gold in Moto X Step Up. McNeil also won bronze in Moto X Best Whip.
- Ryan "R-Willy" Williams won a gold in BMX Big Air, becoming the first to win the event three years in a row.
- Garrett Reynolds continued to dominate the BMX Street competition, taking home his 12th gold medal in the event.
- Josh Sheehan added two medals to Team cbdMD’s total by bringing home the silver medal in Moto X Freestyle and bronze in Moto X Best Trick.
TR-Willy made the biggest splash in the final round of the BMX Big Air event. In a tribute to extreme sports legend Dave Mirra, Ryan entered the ramp with a backflip, becoming the first to achieve the trick.
Other Team cbdMD athletes in competition at the Summer 2019 X Games in Minneapolis included Vicki Golden, Zion Wright, Beaver Fleming, Kurtis Downs, and Ryan Sheckler.
